Ibera Auri was born from the fascination of its members for the interpretation of Spanish and French baroque music from the 17th century, showing an interdisciplinary facet. His focus of interest is on the vocal music of this period, ranging from the French and Spanish Airs de cour, Spanish human tones and even Arias from Zarzuela, which are arranged both instrumentally and vocally following rigorous historicist criteria of the practice of the improvised decreases of this period, also called “doubles” on French territory. All the programs are directly related to real events, which serve as the basis for telling stories around the selected music and transporting modern audiences on a trip to the past, with a fresh language accessible to all types of listeners.
Since its formation in 2017, this young ensemble has been able to participate in concert cycles throughout Europe such as ORDA Festival 2017, Grachtenfestival 2018 and
in the concert cycle “Les goûts réunits” 2019 in Amsterdam and performing on Radio4 Netherlands. They have participated in the 3rd edition of the FEMAG festival (Granada Ancient Music Festival) 2019 and in the cycle of young performers of the Gijón Philharmonic in 2019.
In turn, they have been awarded the first prize of the jury and the special prize of the public in the VII edition of the Anigua de Gijón International Music Competition in 2018 and selected for the National Competition of Musical Youth of Spain in 2018 in the modality of old music. In 2021 they have participated in the prestigious residency program “International Young Artist’s Presentation (IYAP)”, belonging to the early music festival AMUZ (Laus Polyphoniae) in Antwerp and directed by Peter Van Heyghen and the Spanish soprano Raquel Andueza. In 2022 they have been selected to carry out the artistic residence of La Cité de la Voix in Vélezay and they plan concerts in Spain and Germany.
