ECOS de Sierra Espuña Ensemble
ECOS de Sierra Espuña Ensemble is a flexible ensemble comprised of young early music professionals and students who are finishing their studies who will be working with their conducter, Jorge Losana, for a week in the staging of a certain repertoire for later performance during the festival.
The purpose of this workshop is to deepen the interpretation of Renaissance repertoire in the Iberian Peninsula, and experiment with different sonic and interpretative possibilities from a vocal and orchestration perspective.
For ECOS 2018, we will count on pieces kept in the archives of the Cathedrals of Murcia and Orihuela, especially Francisco Guerrero and Tomás Luis de Victoria´s work, thanks to the cooperation with Institución Milá i Fontanals in Barcelona – Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, and the University of Murcia.
In order to participate, the use of period instruments and prior preparation of the repertoire will be necessary. The registration fee includes full-board accommodation, course materials and tickets to all concerts.
