CONCERT

ENTREBESCANT

Friday, 1st of September

Explanada de la Ermita de la Virgen de los Remedios.
Location: Pliego
Hour: 21:00h
Price: 5€ – 10€

Active since 2015 and based in Madrid,  Entrebescant focuses on the peninsular repertoire of the Middle Ages, especially the Cantigas de Santa María and Martín Códax, the Sephardic Ballads and the repertoire of songs of Arab-Andalusi origin. It has a growing variety of instruments, many of them built to order based on miniatures present in the preserved codices. The dedication of its members to historically informed research and interpretation makes the production of transcriptions and their own versions a priority for the group.

During the last two years they have offered concerts at the FIMU festival in Belfort (France), as part of the “Garden of Earthly Delights” cycle in Segovia, Espacio Ronda in Madrid, the Provincial Historical Archive of Guadalajara, or as part of the “Music edible”, in Carcaixent (Valencia). Likewise, they were selected to be part of the second edition of #GeneraciónSMADE within the 53rd Estella Early Music Week (2022) and in the XIV National Chamber Music Contest “Primavera Albox” (2022), organised by Albox City Council. Regarding pedagogical work, they have carried out performances in various festivals and cultural cycles and didactic concerts in schools and conservatories.

Entrebescant brings together five young musicians and musicologists specialised in traditional and ancient repertoires. The Iberian medieval peninsular repertoire offers a richness that Entrebescant tries to reflect through consulting original sources and searching for new repertoires.
