El joven violista Eliaz Hercelin Sanz crea el ensemble Barbaroco junto al tiorbista Nico Arzimanoglou Mas al final sus estudios superiores de música histórica en Versalles en 2018. Su idea fue reunir músicos con talento, carácter y conocimiento para componer un ensemble especializado en música barroca, todo bajo el prisma de la historia y la pasión por realizarla con la mayor exigencia del arte de la interpretación.

 

The young violist Eliaz Hercelin Sanz created Barbaroco Ensemble together with theorbist Nico Arzimanoglou Mas at the end of his studies in historical music in Versailles in 2018. His idea was to bring together musicians with talent, character and knowledge to create an ensemble specialized in baroque music, all under the prism of history and the passion to carry it out meeting the highest demands of the art of interpretation.

 

Harpsichord, organ, theorbo, guitar, violin, cello and violas da gamba are the instruments that make up Barbaroco. With them, Eliaz creates musical programs in which the instruments stand out singing to the sound of scores composed centuries before by major composers from Diego Ortiz to Marin Marais or J. M. Leclair, J. Schenck, Bach, Stradella … and many more.

Based in Paris, Barbaroco ensemble has performed in the capital but also at Early Music festivals across France such as Embaroquement Inmediat, the Marin Marais festival, Asfeld Viola da Gamba festival, Chateau de l’Hermitage, Thes Baroques, les jeudis musicaux de la Capilla Real de Versalles… In them they have had the opportunity to showcase themselves as a united and very promising ensemble.

ECOS family concerts are intended to introduce early music to the whole family in a playful and relaxed atmosphere in which fun is a way of learning. The artists will adapt their repertoire and speak to the concert audiences where the attendees (especially younger  ones) will have a lot to say.
